Manager Production (RP)

Role Purpose

Own end-to-end production for the RP line(s)—plan, run, and improve daily operations to hit safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets.

What You’ll Own

  • Plan & Execute: Convert MPS/MRP into line-wise daily plans; ensure schedule adherence & on-time FG dispatches.
  • People & Shift Management: Lead [X–Y] operators/supervisors across [3] shifts; skill-matrix, rota, and performance.
  • Quality at Source: Drive FPY and in-process quality; implement CAPA with QA; cut defects/scrap/rework.
  • OEE & Throughput: Improve OEE via SMED, constraint removal, line balancing, and standard work.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Partner with Maintenance for planned downtime, spares, and MTBF/MTTR improvement.
  • EHS & Compliance: Enforce LOTO, PPE, 5S, HIRA/JSA; meet ISO [9001/14001/45001], [HACCP/GMP/FSSAI—if applicable].
  • Cost Control: Reduce conversion cost—yield, energy per unit, consumables, changeover losses.
  • Data & Systems: Run shift DMS (tier meets), maintain batch/lot/MES data; close daily production reports in ERP (SAP/Oracle).
  • Audit & Documentation: SOPs, WI, control plans; face internal/customer audits confidently.
  • Continuous Improvement: Kaizen pipeline, Gemba actioning, Green-belt projects; coach team on Lean basics.

Must-Have

  • Degree: B.E./B.Tech in [Mechanical/Chemical/Printing/Production] or equivalent.
  • Experience: [6–10] years in high-volume manufacturing; [3+] years leading a line/cell—preferably in [your RP process].
  • Proven delivery on OEE uplift, scrap reduction, and schedule attainment.
  • Strong command of Lean/5S/Kaizen/SMED, basic statistics, problem-solving tools (8D/RCFA/FMEA).
  • Comfortable with ERP (SAP/Oracle), basic MES/SCADA dashboards, and Excel.
